My list of motivation keeps growing and growing and even despite that, I didn’t want to get off the couch and hit the treadmill today. I got to thinking about all the reasons I wanted to get healthy and how by not doing it I am only cheating myself. I thought about all the reasons I wanted to get in shape in the first place. - To get bikini ready for our trip to Mexico in June
- To get healthy so I can feel and look better.
- To get in shape for Warrior Dash (yes, I’m doing it)
- To look good for a modeling gig for a local dress designer in June.
- Having results to post for my blog.
So after pondering all of that for a while I got up and jumped on the treadmill. It made me think of this picture I found on Pinterest. I walked/jogged for 25 min or 1.55 miles, and burned 205 calories. It’s better than nothing right. I had a list of things to do and not much time to do them in and I chose to exercise. Yay me! That has never happened before. I put my earbuds in and took off. I didn’t even change clothes just rocked it in my jeans. Also, I discovered doing the running man is way funner on a treadmill. I highly recommend it. Hope my neighbors weren’t watching cause I was really busting a move out there. After I finished, besides feeling sweaty and out of breath, I felt GREAT! So great, in fact I am looking forward to the next time. If you are struggling with motivation you should check out this link. It helped me get going in those first few days. I have been at this for 2 weeks now and have lost somewhere between 6-9 pounds depending on when I weigh myself. I will start weighing at the same time of day so I can report more accurately next week. You should know that I am not starving myself. If I am hungry I eat. I am just paying close attention to portion size and food groups. For each meal or snack I try to pair a protein with a complex carb. I learned that after reading a book called “The Eat Clean Diet Recharged” by Tosca Reno. I am far from mastering it though.
And as always, here’s what I ate today. Keep in mind I worked night shift last night so it will seem goofy.
Breakfast (4:00am): Special K breakfast bar
Slept from 7:45am until 1:45pm
Snack: Pistachios and water
Dinner: You know how people tell you not to go all day without eating because when you do you eat way too much. I can assure you that is a true story. For dinner I had a beer, small greek salad, and 2 slices of cheese pizza from Mellow Mushroom. And then we went to Braums where I had a junior size chocolate Heath Bar mix. My husband gave a gallant effort in trying to steer me away from the ice cream but if you know me at all you know that once I want something bad enough chances are high I will get it.
