Hello! Long time no blog I know. If you’ve read my bio you would know that I am easily distracted and distracted is what I have been. But then, the other day, I looked at the calendar to realize my fantastic beachy vacation and one of the main motivators for getting healthy was in less than 9 weeks. Holy smokes I better get back in gear for the final countdown.
Let me re-cap:
My husband and I planned a beach vacation for our 10 year anniversary and invited our friends. Then I realized I would be spending a week in a bathing suit with people I knew……so, “Operation Hot Bod” began. I started at the end of January at 140 lb (my heaviest ever). I’ve been working out and eating healthy and I am now at 124 lb but still pretty smooshy. My goal was 12o lb but then I changed it to a non flabby whatever weight.
Now that your up to date and I have a deadline looming I best get back to it. I am trying really hard to start eating better again. I let it slip a little more than I would have liked in my recent distracted phase. In addition I want to get exercising a bit more frequently to tone up before I break out the bikini. In an effort to tone my midsection I did this workout today. I thought I would share my thoughts with you on this Flat Abs Fast routine.
Bird Dog Gets Down- This move wasn’t terrible. I was probably doing it wrong though. It hurt my wrists more than anything. The best part of this one was its name.
Tolasana on Blocks- They should call this “Look How Weak Your Core Is”. I immediately had shaking action in the abdominals and there was no way in heck that I was going to be able to lift my feet.
Side Plank Variation- Sucked in a hard way. It didn’t suck hard it sucked because it was hard…get it? This hurt my wrists a lot as well.
Magic Carpet Ride- This one works… mostly because if you don’t use your core to pull yourself upright you will straight face plant into the floor. How’s that for motivation?
Pass the Block- I actually liked this one and felt quite graceful while doing it.
Wide-Legged Criss-Cross- Definitely do-able. Not too hard but not too easy. Just right!
Balancing Act- Another very motivating move in that if you don’t use good control your yoga block will plummet to your face.
Lean Back- I read this one and I was all like what and huh and then I was all like oh I can do this and then I started and I was all like this sucks A$$ (and I don’t cuss). BUT, I finished anyways.
Warrior III Curl- Not terrible, but not great either. Didn’t feel the burn on this one. As I consciously tried to avoid kneeing myself in the eye I imagined this conversation….
Friend: Angela, how did you get that black eye?
Me: I kneed myself
Friend: (Silently confused but understands because it is typical Angela behavior)
Me: (Nodding with an exasperated look as if to acknowledge the nerdy that is me)
I tend to post lots of other randomness on my Flabulous Facebook page! Go see!
