I ate TERRIBLE!
Breakfast: Scrambles, bacon, biscuits, and gravy. OJ and coffee
Lunch: Split pea soup and water
Dinner: 2 slices of pizza and half of a firehouse sub. Yes, all that and a bag of chips. Water to drink
Again, no exercise. Sundays are busy for me so I wasn’t just lying around all day. I went to church where we have a hot breakfast each Sunday so I scarfed that down during Sunday School. Then I came home and did some work for church stuff then went to a youth meeting where we had pizza, subs, and chips. I was able to resist the soda though (baby steps right). I WILL be going to Zumba tomorrow.
Breakfast: same as yesterday
Snack: pretzels, grapes, strawberries and half a cupcake (Birthday party)
Lunch: Buffalo chicken sandwich with low fat provolone and water
Dinner: Grilled ham and reduced fat cheese on whole wheat with roasted red pepper soup
Snack: Apple pie with ice cream (I know that’s bad)
Today was a crazy busy day and I didn’t do so hot. Let me break it down.
Woke up and ate breakfast.
Showered and got kids dressed
Went to B-day party
Went to Hobby Lobby
Came home and ate lunch
Went to watch Lauren cheer
Came home and finished un-decorating for Christmas
Picked up and vacuumed house
Put kids to bed
Did a painting (ahhhh, serenity)
Prepped for Sunday School
Went to bed
I feel like a jerk for not exercising but I promised myself I would tomorrow. I indulged twice today but let me explain. I ate half a cupcake at the birthday party but that was good for me because I usually eat the whole thing. Then…I ate apple pie with ice cream. I have been craving that since I saw a commercial for Marie Callenders individual apple pies over Christmas break. I have resisted for 2 weeks and I finally caved. And, may I say, it was delicious. As I lie in bed typing my day I occasionally look down and jiggle the lump that is my belly and remind myself not to make this type of day a habit.
Breakfast: Kashi Autumn Wheat cereal with banana and skim mile. I drank coffee.
Snack: Greek Yogurt
Lunch: handful of baby carrots, a few rice chips, and half of a sandwich with mustard, pepper jack cheese, pickles, chicken, and romaine lettuce. Drank water
Dinner: Buffalo chicken sandwich and salad with ranch. Also had 1/8 of a Totino’s cheese pizza and a glass of red wine.
I am feeling sort of unmotivated today and very sore from Physique Sculpt yesterday. I took a nap at 7:30 a.m. which is sort of ridiculous but feeling a little peppier now. I need to take down Christmas decorations today and I have an art project to do for a friend and it’s all I can do not to scrap everything and get crackin’ on that. I am doing a painting of a vintage airplane and I really want to get started. Anyways, I am trying to convince myself that it will count as exercise for today if I do squats and jump everywhere while putting away Christmas décor. I guess it would be better than nothing but deep down I know it’s not good enough. For inspiration I looked at the new swimsuits at Victoria’s Secret. It only helped a little :/
Then I remembered I got new tennis shoes yesterday. They are Sketchers shape-ups. Supposedly they activate calf, thigh, and butt muscles. I was under the impression that walking in general activated those muscles but whatever they were only $25 at TJ Maxx. Anyhoo, that was enough to make me want to do this work out I saw yesterday on Pinterest because I forgot to do squats and jump everywhere when I put up the Christmas stuff.
This looks all cute and innocent but I can assure you it is not. It is a tough workout but, totally doable for a beginner like me. I did it and I did it ALL! I wanted to quit lots of times or cheat but I talked myself out of it and man am I glad I did. I always tell myself if I’m going to do something do it right otherwise it’s a waste of time and effort. In addition to just doing it, I made it harder for myself by adding my own resistance as I did the moves. To add your own resistance you just pretend like the air is dense and harder to move through. I feel that makes it more bang for my buck. I did the running part on a treadmill and I do have a bit of advice there. Don’t get to distracted rocking out to your music because it’s entirely possible your fingers could get tangled in your ear buds and sling your iPod across the garage in turn making you fall off the back of the treadmill. Thank goodness those cabinets were there to stop me a person. Just sayin’.
I started keeping a journal on January 5th so I thought I would let y’all catch up…
Breakfast: Coffee with Truvia and a little creamer and Kashi Autumn wheat cereal with bananas and skim milk
Snack: Pre work-out drink
Lunch: California Avocado sandwich with kettle chips and water from Atlanta Bread Company
Snack: Greek Yogurt
Dinner: Fajitas and black beans. Whole wheat tortillas, 2% cheese, plain yogurt (works like sour cream), salsa, and chicken with black beans. Drank water
Today I went to the gym with my neighbor Mary and did a “Physique Sculpt” class. We used ballet bars, hand weights, and little balls. It was really tough and I was begging for the instructor to throw in a child’s pose after the first couple of minutes. Shoot we were doing push-ups during the warm up. What the heck is up with that? Anyhow, the instructor was nice and kept saying y’all look good (obviously she wasn’t looking at me). I definitely wore the wrong pants. The waistband accentuated my fat so much I was distracted and lost count every time I looked down. We did this thing called thigh dancing and I told Mary my thighs dance every time I walk but this particular thigh dancing was a little different. You get on your knees and raise your butt up just a little as you pop your hip out to the left then right. In sync with your hip popping you raise your arms. It could actually be fun if you had any sort of coordination, which I do not. But, I think if I keep trying I could look dead sexy doing that move. Oh and I almost forgot. I decided I would try my husbands pre work out drink. It’s supposed to give you energy to have a good workout. Not true. I felt no extra energy during the actual work out. And yes I followed the directions. However, later at Hobby Lobby I kept getting really distracted and forgetting what I was there for. Mary had to keep redirecting me and reminding me why we were there. Then I realized my hands were all shaky and that’s when it hit me! I think that drink screwed me up. I mean I usually do get distracted at Hobby Lobby because I see SO many things I want to make but this was over the top. I felt like that spaz little squirrel on ice age.
