Hi! I’ve missed a few day mostly because nothing really interesting happened. I ate a few unhealthy things and didn’t exercise on Friday or Saturday.
I don’t have too much to say about Friday mostly because I don’t remember too much about Friday. I know we went and saw Star Wars in 3-D. I also know I didn’t exercise and I know I ate a few unhealthy things but I can’t remember why or what so I will move on…
On Saturday we had a Valentine’s Party at church where everyone brought a dessert. I had really good intentions of NOT cheating. I made a fairly healthy dessert with vanilla yogurt, angel food cake, strawberries, and blueberries. It was actually really good. Unfortunately, I was not able to resist some of the other delicious offerings. Oh and we had pizza for dinner. Shut your face. I’m not perfect here.
Moving on to TODAY… It was Sunday and it was busy as always. I finally got some exercising done. I went to the gym with Mary and did some more wogging and Warrior Dash training. If you are wondering what we did then just check my post from a few days ago. Here’s what I ate today…
Breakfast: Brought a grapefruit to church to eat and added a little scrambled eggs and a wee bit of bacon. Coffee to drink.
Lunch: Amy’s Split Pea Soup and water
Snack: Banana and water
Dinner: Remember it’s a Sunday which means I eat with the Youth Group at church. Tonights dinner was Sloppy Joes and chips. I like to use the sloppy joe as a dip and scoop it up with chips. It was good stuff! I had water and Diet Coke to drink.
Last but not least is a little food for thought I call my… PIN OF THE DAY!
Well hello week 5 happy to see you! Yep, I’ve made it 5 weeks so far and still into this getting healthy business (that’s really good for me by the way). So far I am down 11 pounds. SWEET ACTION! I stayed on track today…pretty much.
Went to the gym with Mary and did some wogging for 2 miles (that’s walking/jogging and yes I made it up) then we did some more Warrior Dash training. Here’s what we did…
We did 2 sets of each for 40 seconds then rested in between for 20 seconds
- pushups (I suck at pushups by the way but I try my best)
- jumprope (instead of actually jumping rope we held 3lb weights and jumped up and down)
- squats with 10 lb weights
manswomans (that’s where you lay on your belly and raise your arms and legs in the air and hold it)
- chair dips (most horrible things in the world)
- lunges with 12 lb ball
- stair run
- glute bridge
Here’s what I ate…
Breakfast: Delights breakfast sandwich and coffee
Snack: A sampling of Bolthouse Farms Chai Latte
Lunch: Hmmm, oh yea I scarfed down a PB&J before napping for work
Snack: Cutie orange
Dinner: I made a salad from White Oak’s Stations salad bar and drank water. I tried to keep it healthy.
I had to work tonight so I had a coffee at 11:00 pm with….wait for it….10 sugars! I know it seems like a lot huh. Well, I guess it IS a lot but I indulged.
Sort of proud of myself today but I owe it to Mary (my workout buddy). Let me explain…
I got all wrapped up in doing a painting today and persuaded myself NOT to exercise. I told myself it was a rest day and felt okay about it. Then, at 4:47 I get a text from Mary asking me to go to the gym after dinner. I told her I didn’t want to then she guilted me into it and I told her I was mad at her. So, we get to the gym and hit the treadmills. I put my earbuds in and noticed they seemed a little quiet but just kept on with my warm up walk. About half way into our warm up Mary says, “can you hear your music” and I said “yea” but I thought it was weird that she asked. Then she said, “so can I”. I was confused then I looked down to realize my ear buds weren’t plugged in and I had been blaring my tunes for the whole place to hear. We laughed a little then moved on. We continued our couch to 5K program. We walked .11 miles then jogged .11 then walked .11 then jogged .22 miles then repeated. It was 2 miles total. I almost fell off the treadmill about 1 mile in when I was explaining my new dress to Mary. I was trying to show her how long it was and my foot got tripped up and I nearly flew off the back but I totally recovered. You better believe I am counting all the laughing as ab work. When we finished up our walk/jog we did a little Warrior Dash training. We’re so rad we made the moves harder by adding weights and stuff. Even with the weights we kept commenting on how these moves were getting easier. Yea, we rock. Here’s what I ate today…
Breakfast: Kashi shredded wheat with a banana and coffee.
Snack: Handful of pistachios and water
Lunch: Subway turkey sandwich and baked lays with water. I ordered from the under 450 calorie menu. I don’t think the Subway worker got the memo. Let me break this down…
Me: I’ll have the #7 off the under 450 calorie menu.
Worker: What type of bread?
Me: Probably whole wheat. I will just have whatever the one is that’s under 450 calories
Worker: 6 or 12 inch?
Me: I’m just guessing but I think the 6 inch is probably the one I need to stay under 450 calories.
Worker: Do you want cheese?
Me: Probably not…would that keep the sub under 450 calories?
Worker: I don’t know.
Me: (Speechless and laughing in disbelief)
Why does Subway even have a menu? Moving on…
Snack: Small handful of Pistachios
Dinner: Cheese Omelette. I used one whole egg and one egg white, added some Rotel tomatoes and a little shredded cheese. It was YUM! Then I ate a 100 calorie Jello Key Lime Pie snack.
Quickie report tonight. I have plans to watch TV and eat Skinny Cow ice cream with the hubs. I skipped carbs at dinner tonight so I could have some ice cream. Is that bad or good. Hmm don’t know. Don’t care (too much).
I worked out with Chalene today and I felt like I should have run a little too but I didn’t. Sort of feel guilty about it but don’t care (too much).
Here’s what I ate today…
Breakfast: Delights breakfast sandwich with coffee.
Snack: More coffee with a little chia tea latte protein drink in it.
Lunch: Leftover egg salad on whole wheat.
Snack: Small handful of pistachios and a cutie
Dinner: Chicken breast with BBQ sauce and veggies. Green tea to drink
Treat: Dulche De Leche Skinny Cow ice cream single.
Oh yes and I do have a ……..PIN OF THE DAY!
I tried hard to redeem myself from yesterday and I think I did well. I had a very busy productive day and still managed to squeeze in some exercise time and ate pretty decent.
I hit the ground running this morning and didn’t stop until about 7:45 pm. I got a ton done…dentist appointment, Hobby Lobby run, grocery shopping, oil change, found a dress and accessories for a charity event in March, went to lunch with my pal Karma, took Lauren to piano and cheer, and all the other daily stuff I do. I managed to work out with Chalene after Lauren’s piano lesson and before dinner. I actually kinda prepared dinner while working out. In between intervals I would run to the kitchen and do a step towards completing dinner. I was really pressed for time today. Yea, I know…hard core right.
I did NOT want to work out today. I was wiped out and just not at all in the mood. But, I made myself. Chalene (the lady on the DVD) was trying to motivate me but it wasn’t helping. Then the timer popped up on the bottom of the screen and it said 45 minutes. CRAP! is what I thought to myself because I really was hoping for less than 30 minutes. I persuaded myself to stick it out and finish the whole stinkin’ thing. 45 minutes may not seem like a long time but after my day and the mind set I was in, it seemed like the longest amount of time imaginable. I must say that as always Chalene was right, I did feel better after I was finished. I also felt gross because I was totally sweaty and stinky but I will overlook that.
Today I signed up at myfitnesspal.com so I could keep track of my calories. I entered in todays stuff and I can almost guarantee I won’t log in again. It’s just a pain. I want to want to use it because it’s actually kinda cool but I just don’t see myself entering every little thing I eat. I’d prefer just to tell you guys here on my blog. Here’s what I ate today.
Breakfast: Strawberry greek yogurt with a few crushed Kashi Autumn Harvest biscuits. Coffee to drink
Lunch: My friend Karma took me to Panerra for my birthday. I had half of a greek salad and half of a veggie sandwich. Water to drink.
Snack: Bolthouse Farms Mocha Cappuccino protein drink. I don’t know why they call it a protein drink. It doesn’t have any more protein than a glass of milk. It’s yummy though. I will use it as more of a treat.
Dinner: Egg Salad made with plain greek yogurt instead of mayo on whole wheat and a cutie orange thing. Water to drink
apple 1/2 of an apple. My kids totally stole half my apple. If I would have cut them an apple they wouldn’t have eaten it but they sure scarfed mine right up. I’m not bitter.
