Let your little monsters’ imagination run wild creating their own monster hats. We used foam visors, white and black sticky foam, marabou trim, and pipe cleaners. Serve monster treats and read the book, Tickle Monster, by Josie Bissett.
Play dates are a great way to encourage kids to use their imagination and express their individuality. Let’s be honest…they are also a great excuse to get the moms together for some much needed adult time. We want to encourage you to make time to play in 2012. We are serving up 3 affordable play date ideas this week.
First up: Little Artists. The ideas for this theme are endless, but we chose these blank cardboard child shaped cutouts at Hobby Lobby. Each child can create one to resemble their unique characteristics, which is a lesson in individuality and offers up a chance to work on their colors. You can have children decorate them with markers or paint, but we thought it was fun to use felt. We
pre-cut pieces of felt in the shapes hair, clothes, and accessories for kids to choose from. Add a stick and it becomes a puppet. The kids can put on an entertaining show after the craft.
We used a paint can to display art
supplies, and had silly glasses for the kids to wear.
We served bright and colorful kid friendly
food. We used cupcake flags to sneak a little learning in…another opportunity to work on colors and letters. You can purchase this printable collection on our Etsy site. Don’t forget to SHARE
your create play date ideas and pictures with us.
I am so humbled, excited, and grateful that Hostess with the Mostess featured our “Here Comes Santa Claus” party on their site. It is by far one of my favorite blogs, and my go-to site for entertaining inspiration! THANK YOU HOSTESS WITH THE MOSTESS!!!
I styled this fun “Here Comes Santa Claus” party for our page in Peekaboo Magazine. I wanted the kids to sing their way down the table.
Here Comes Santa Claus, Here Comes Santa Claus…
Right Down Santa Claus Lane. Vixen and Blitzen and all his reindeer are pulling on the reins.
Bells are ringing, children singing, all is merry and bright…
So, hang your stockings, and say your prayers, because Santa Claus comes tonight!
