Here is an over the top, amazing, real NWA party – hosted by my good friend, Shalini Mears. I seriously couldn’t believe all of the cute details. I was ooohing and aahhing the entire time.
Shalini’s boys have birthdays within weeks of each other so she throws one big bash to celebrate their big days. This years theme – sharks! She had a shark infested beach cake, shark fin cupcakes, exquisite custom cookies, flip flop cookies, shark bite lifesavers, and so much more.
More fun details: ‘fish food’ goldfish, ‘shark bait’ cheese puffs, custom water bottle labels, and a custom birthday banner.
If swimming weren’t enough, Shalini had a sno-cone, cotton candy, and face painting station outside for the kids. They all had an amazing time, and that’s what it’s all about.
Good job, super mom!! You have made memories for a lifetime.
I had the pleasure of hosting a small baby shower for my friend, Lesley, over the weekend. Since the baby’s name will be Lucy, I couldn’t resist a “Lucy in the sky with diamonds” theme. You could really have some fun with this, but I kept it pretty simple. I just used a funky fabric from Hobby Lobby and scrapbooking paper. A line in the song talks about rocking horse people so I made sure to include a rocking horse in the decor (also appropriate for a shower).
I created a custom sign that said, “Lucy in the sky with diamonds”. I used funky patterns to represent the girl with the kaleidoscope eyes and tall flowers mentioned in the song. Maybe a little strange for a baby shower, but I’m a sucker for non-traditional.
Here is a picture of the sweet mommy to be and gorgeous guests. Love these girls!
